JuneLake, referred to as California’s Swiss Alps, has served California road trippers since the 1920’s when Hollywood film stars used it as a year round getaway destination. The mountains are impressive, and the lakes a brilliant blue. June Lake, itself, is used by paddle boarders, the trout fishing community, and family beach-goers. Day use parking is very close to the rocky sand, so visitors drag tents, boats, fishing gear, and enough food the day out to the sand. The town of June Lake is adjacent to the lake, as is a campground and resort. Summer weekends are as busy as you would expect. In the end, to experience June Lake is to have a beach day like no other.
